Local business owners Wes Griffith and Rob Evans purchased Macon-based radio station 100.9 WNEX FM in 2016. The ownership, called Creek Media (named after the Native American tribe that first settled Macon), re-launched radio programming that summer on The Creek 100.9 FM. The Creek is an independently owned and operated radio station featuring the best of the South’s Americana and roots music, thoughtful programming, and unique city insights.
Built in the Heart of Downtown Macon
Creek Media is headquartered in the heart of downtown Macon at 533 Cherry Street. The studios overlook Cherry Street and are visible from street level. Creek Media shares a lobby with the Rookery, the longtime anchor restaurant of downtown Macon. Creek Media partner Wes Griffith co-owns Moonhanger Group, a Macon restaurant and hospitality company that includes the Rookery as well as Dovetail and H&H Soul Food. Moonhanger Group also manages the Hargray Capitol Theatre.
Curating Local Programming & Performances
Creek Media brings local programming to its radio stations, including opportunities to highlight live local music and bring community radio back to Macon. The goal is to broadcast the best of Central Georgia to the world with authentic live music and lifestyle programming. Local deejays with a deep knowledge of music grace the airwaves of Creek Media radio stations every day, and we’re proud to provide platforms to create authentic community bonds through music.
